Callum Forbes is a potter based in Stoke On Trent who focuses mainly on soda fired pottery.

The blue ‘chun’ type glaze on these coffee cups is fired in a gas kiln, and the colour is not a pigment, but instead is an optical blue meaning there are areas of opalescence. It’s the same phenomenon that makes the sky appear blue.

Each cup is made by hand so there will be slight variations in size and colour. Which is also part of the beauty. The handle is ergonomic and unique.
